School Tragedies

I am deeply saddened by the events in Florida yesterday, February 14, 2018. Once again we have seen senseless violence taking the lives of students and teachers. I am seeing the usual arguments popping up. Democrats vs Republicans, gun foes vs gun advocates, etc. Everybody trying to use the blood of children to leverage their point of view.

Let me state upfront that I am not aligned with ANY political party, but I am a conservative, constitutional individual. I believe in the second amendment, which clearly states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

I support the ownership of weapons and I do own various weapons. I do not own nor do I have a desire to possess an AR-15 type weapon, not because I am opposed to them, it is kind of like why I don’t own motorcycle or a pickup truck. Now I am getting a bit off track, but I want you to understand where I am coming from.

So back to the school violence. Why do we have it?
We live in a corrupt society that puts little value on life, teaches children that they came from nothing and will return to nothingness. Our children are growing up with a feeling of worthlessness, nothing matters! We have provided them with video games where the entire time is spent searching out and killing others. This creates a mindset that killing is a game with a goal to be the high scorer. What happens when the thrill of the video console is lost? I guess shooting some real people, spilling real blood with real bullets may be a logical next step.

That is part of the reason, but deeper still is who we allow to direct our lives and those of our children. On June 17, 1963 the Supreme Court declared school-sponsored prayer and Bible readings unconstitutional. Just 4 months and 3 days before the 55th anniversary of this decision, we see more children dying in the schools where God is not allowed.

Ephesians 6:11 states “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

When we take prayer out of the schools we remove the armor of God and open the doors to the devil. We are warned in 1Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

So what is the answer to stopping this violence in the schools? I wish I had the answer, but it will not be easy to undo the effects of the last 55 years. Maybe having armed guards within the schools is what we need now.

Is it too late to fix this problem? I don’t think so, but as I said, it is a long road back to where we were on June 16, 1963

Let’s start filling our children with a sense of purpose, a respect for life and other people’s rights. Help them to understand that they were created by a loving, caring God who wants to see them succeed in life.

Let’s end legalized abortion. Why is it the right of the mother to kill a child in the womb or the birth canal, but murder a few inches further into the world?

Let’s bring prayer back into the schools, and stop trying to pretend that God does not exist!

Let’s get our kids off of Facebook and into the Book, the Bible.

Parents, please teach your children how to pray to God before terror strikes. not seek answers from Him afterwards.

Lets bring God back into our lives, our families, our schools, workplaces and our CHURCHES!

Our churches are not without fault in this. When the true word of God is not taught, then a false word is taught. Hell is a real place! The devil is real! God did create everything, including man in His image! We did not evolve from some glop that came from nowhere! Salvation is available and essential!!

It is my prayer that each of those killed had accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and are in His presence today. I also pray that those who witnessed this tragedy (either in person or thru internet/TV) who does not have a persona relationship with Jesus, would seek to have one. There is a God who loves you and wants you to be saved, but we are all guilty of sin and must pay the penalty. Jesus paid the penalty for everyone of us, but most will refuse to accept this free gift. take advantage of this opportunity today.
