Who is BW Web Designs?
BW Web Designs is a Web Design company located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Bill Webster is the owner and web designer. The company was started in 2000, is a one person operation, and is dedicated to helping small business owners and community organizations gain an internet presence. What do I need for my own web site?
There are 3 basic items you need to have your own web site:
- A Domain Name (www.yourdomain.com).
Domain names are purchased and registered. This is the name that will point
to your web hosting site (DNS).
BW Web Designs will register your domain name for you. We use only Network Solutions as our registry. - A Web Design. BW Web Designs will be happy to work with you to develop the design that best fits your business.
- A Domain Name Server to park your web site. This is the computer that is connected to the internet, to which your web site files will be uploaded.

How does BW Web Designs provide low cost web hosting?
The answer to this question is very simple. When I first started to look for a web hosting company I found that there were several out there who provide hosting for very high monthly rates. I kept looking and found a company called Genesis II, that provides highly reliable web hosting at a reasonable annual cost. After using them for my own web site for over a year, and having no down time, and receiving excellent support from them, I signed on as a reseller of their products.

How much will my own web site cost?
There are 3 factors in the cost of your web site.
- Domain Name: The price for registering a domain name is $10.00 per year. If you wish to register for more than 1 year at a time, there is a slight decrease in the annual cost.
- Web Hosting: The cost of a web hosting site is currently $80.00 per year with a one time setup fee of $25.00
- Web Design: BW Web Designs charges an hourly rate of $25.00. The total design cost depends on how much or how little you desire to have on your site. Most sites require between 10 and 20 hours of work, so you should plan on between $250 and $500.
